We are Planteka

Planteka is a project that connects plant lovers with experts in plant care.

It all started when Sanitha, our founder, moved to Barcelona. Upon arriving, she missed being surrounded by nature and felt the desire to fill every corner of her home with tropical plants.

Inspired by memories of her mother exchanging cuttings with neighbors in Kerala and the balconies full of plants in the city of Barcelona, Sanitha founded Planteka.
“Eka” means “one” in Sanskrit, and at Planteka we believe in unity through plants, connecting us through our shared love of nature.
Here we bring together people and small local businesses to share not only plants, but also valuable knowledge and experiences for our community. Our members are experts in environmental sustainability, plant-inspired art, plant therapy, and general plant care and propagation.
